Richard Bussell
Richard Bussell completed his law degree at the University of Hull before attending the College of Law in Chester for the Legal Practice Course. Richard worked in Burton on Trent whilst completing his training contract and qualified as a solicitor in February 2002. He joined the firm at the beginning of 2004 and became an Associate March 2005 and a partner and head of department in June 2006. Richard specialises in advising clients on wills, trust, probates and Inheritance Tax planning, as well as advising elderly clients, and others, on Enduring Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters and mitigating the impact of care home fees. Richard is a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
   
Valerie Phillips  
Valerie Phillips
Valerie Phillips has been the firm's Probate Manager since 1985. During that time she has helped many hundreds of families cope with the difficult legal and practical problems arising from bereavement. Valerie is able to wind up estates in a way that places the least additional stress at this trying time. Valerie also prepares wills and advises elderly clients and their families over the management of their affairs
     
Rachel Blackbourn  
Rachel Blackbourn
Rachel joined the firm in November 1994 as an office junior.  Having progressed to receptionist and secretary with the Family department, she then joined the Personal Injury department as a paralegal in February 2002.  Rachel returned to the Family department as a paralegal before joining the Wills, Trusts and Probate department in February 2005.  Rachel provides advice in relation to Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney and Probate matters.  She is currently training to qualify as a Legal Executive.
