Stephen Wilson
Stephen Wilson joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 1979 and became a partner
in 1985. Stephen has specialised in litigation since 1993 and now deals
exclusively with personal injury cases for claimants. Stephen is a member
of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel and is also a member of the
Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Association of Child Abuse
Lawyers. Stephen sits as a Deputy District Judge at courts in the Midlands
area and is a past President of Lincolnshire Law Society. |

Rebecca Guy
Rebecca read Law at Leicester University before completing her Legal Practice
Course at Nottingham Law School. She started at the firm in September
2000 and trained in various departments before joining the public law
team. Rebecca is also a member of the Association
of Child Abuse Lawyers and of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. |

Andrew Payne
Andrew Payne is the head of our Commercial Department.
A graduate of Leeds University, he joined the firm in
1978 on qualification and became a partner in 1979.
Under Andrew's leadership the firm's commercial department
stands in the front rank of legal practices in Lincoln.
Andrew holds a private pilot's licence and is former
chairman of both Lincoln Round Table and the Lincoln
Cake Ball. |

Gary Phillips
Gary Phillips is an Oxford graduate. He joined the firm
as a trainee in 1988 and became a partner in 1991. Gary
deals with a wide variety of commercial transactions
and disputes, especially those involving trusts and
tax. He is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate
Practitioners. He spends much time and wastes much money
collecting antiquarian books. He is secretary of the
Lincolnshire branch of the Oxford University Society. |

Karen Bower-Brown
Karen Bower-Brown was admitted as a solicitor in 1988
after studying at Columbia University, New York and
in London. She joined Sills & Betteridge in 1999 to
handle commercial litigation and contentious probate
work. She has been a partner of the firm since 2003. Her
previous career has included advising the staff of the
Royal Household. Most of Karen's time away from the
office is taken up with her three young children. |

Shan Jaehrig
Shan was admitted as a solicitor in 1994, having attended the College of Law at Lancaster Gate, London. She has enjoyed a wide variety of legal experience, most recently as Principal Solicitor at Lincolnshire County Council advising in relation to information law and privacy issues. She joined Sills & Betteridge as an associate in 2006 and became a partner in 2007. She specialises in employment law but will also continue to advise in relation to information management. Shan’s extra-curricular activities rarely extend beyond relaxing with a large glass of wine and a good book. |

Tim Higham
Tim read Industrial Relations with Economics at the University of Kent and then worked for over 15 years as a Contracts Manager for a variety of UK and Canadian Blue Chip companies. In this capacity he has negotiated multi-million pound contracts all over the world and been involved in a number of major acquisitions. In addition to his general commercial law capabilities he also has specific expertise in the electronics, semiconductor, automotive, defence and aerospace industries. He studied for his Postgraduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. Tim also has a Masters Degree in Business Law from De Montfort University where his dissertation was on the subject of the law as it relates to trading on the internet and Tim consequently retains a special interest in this area. In his spare time Tim is vice chairman of his local Parish Council and for his sins follows Grimsby Town Football Club. He is also interested in Genealogy and has traced his Lincolnshire roots back to 1608. |

Ed Capes
Ed Capes studied at the University of Northumbria and the University of Orleans before graduating in 2001 with first class honours in English Law and a licence in French Law. Having trained in Lincoln, Ed spent three years in the corporate finance team of a national firm working on a wide range of transactional projects. Ed joined Sills & Betteridge as an associate solicitor in August 2006 and works in the company and commercial team with much of his time being devoted to corporate matters. Away from the office, Ed is a sports enthusiast and has run numerous half marathons over the last few years (a full marathon is still on the 'to do' list!). He is also keen on the arts, having previously performed with the Lincoln Shakespeare Company and is a director of a local children's theatre charity. |

Malachy McGill
Malachy McGill specialises in property and has joined Sills & Betteridge Solicitors in the commercial conveyancing department. Malachy joins the firm from Huddersfield. He is a graduate of Queens University, Belfast and the College of Law in Chester. |

Gina Flannigan
Gina Flannigan is a home grown product of Sills & Betteridge
who has progressed from being an office junior at 15
to being a partner's secretary and who is now a paralegal
dealing with Debt Collection and General Civil Litigation
of a commercial nature. |
